This Grady White has been sitting unused for a few years and needed some TLC. As expected, the fuel was very flat and needed to be removed from the tank.
The two tanks were accessed through the sending units which revealed heavy corrosion underneath the sender unit gasket interfaces. Both surfaces were cleaned and smoothed to provide a good seal. The sender gaskets were also replaced.
Next, both fuel tanks were cleaned revealing heavy solids and light water contamination. The cleaned tanks were then purged of all of the old fuel.
Reminder: There are no shortcuts. Fuel additives do provide a measured level of benefit but will not bring back fuel that has been sitting this long. Has your tank been cleaned lately? Call Allpure Filtration at 239 540-8550.
