Ok I’m a nice guy, so let me give you three preventative maintenance tips that will help keep your fuel tank contamination free.
One: Replace the o-ring seal on the fuel fill cap every year. This will help seal the interface that keeps water out during rain storms and washings.
Two: Replace the sender gasket between the sender unit and fuel tank surface every three years. This also helps keep out water and debris that may accumulate on the surface of the tank.
Three: Call Allpure Filtration for a maintenance cleaning every 2-4 years. Depending on how often you use your boat, your tank may require a cleaning at some point. Opening the fuel tank and vacuuming the floor is the only effective way to remove contaminants that are resting at the bottom. As always, keep a close eye on you’re fuel filter for feedback as to the condition of the fuel in the tank.
